Four men, two women, and a baby go on excursion to the forest. They are pretty, rich and creative. Cynic discussions, the perennial love game, and distance define their conversations. This time, the characters have consciously abandoned the city to discover what a night in the nature has to offer to them.
A lost spark that jumps off the bonfire sets the forest on fire. They run away in diverse directions. All of a sudden, self-survival is their main concern. The experience of mortal fear, solitude, and vulnerability in front of a raging nature; these factors lead the survivors to a quotidian life which they are not prepared for.
Animal negre tristesa (black animal sadness) is an Anje Hilling’s text from 2007. A charming, terrible and strange drama coproduced by the Sala Beckett along with the Teatro Español.
Julio Manrique is the director of this work that portrays a small and privileged group of human beings who open the gates of Hell due to the imprudence of a bunch of children playing under the shades of the trees, ignoring any danger.
Produced by the Sala Beckett and the Teatro Español
