1535. Emperor Charles I has arrived in Menorca on his way to Tunis. He wants to meet Roger Genestar. Who is he? A simple bird breeder who has personally met Barbarossa, and the emperor wants him by his side. Roger Genestar will explain how he met Barbarossa, how he fell in love with one of his slaves and how he travelled through the Mediterranean until reaching the admiral-corsair's palace to get her. He agreed to negotiate with that young man who was risking his life for his love.
Finally, Roger returned to Menorca alive but without the slave. Roger and the corsair will meet again, since after Charles I victorious expedition in Tunis, Barbarossa will seek revenge on the town of Maó, which he will besiege. The authorities will negotiate a surrender, ignoring Roger's advice, but Barbarossa will not respect anything and will pass the city through blood and fire. Roger's wife dies, and then he finds out she was the slave he believed was leaving with Barbarossa years ago. He pursued a wish all his life, not realising he had her by his side.
