Galvanic and hypnotic. Can the most refined technique coexist with the most brutal savagery? Israel Galván, winner of the National Dance Prize in 2005, has spent more than twenty years responding to that question. His dance is not only linked to the knowledge and practice of a deep-rooted art, it is also linked to his research (some of which attacks the orthodoxy) that has reshaped the space of flamenco dancing, taking it to a new level. His art has done away with all the clichés and turned the stages and stalls of the world´s most demanding festivals and theatres on their head. Israel is the undisputed ambassador of living Spanish dance. Fla.co.men is not the usual sort of flamenco show. No. He is not the usual sort of dancer. Here you can enjoy the artistry of Israel Galván in its purest state, filling the stage with its avant-garde spirit. A tribute to the stripped back sound with the creator´s extreme expressiveness. The body transforms into another instrument. Lucid, enthralling and synthetic. It is not only packed with percussion, it also has wind, brass and string instruments (6 musicians on stage). The body speaks. It shouts. It wails. We all know that Israel Galván is a machine and here it rings out in its purest state.
