A generation condemned to indifference and passivity is one of the most awful consequences of the latest financial crisis, education cuts, the poser trend on social media, unbearable unemployment rates, trash TV, etc. The future of our society has been destroyed. The irate Ifi is a victim of this castrating context. However, there is still hope residing inside her consciousness: behind her defiant ways, coarse language, her love of outdoor binge drinking and joints, she displays a much higher moral code than the evident average in many boards of directors and parliaments. Watching how María Hervás portrays this teenager is a lesson in ethics and a theatrical delight. We are referring to an actor at her very best, one of the few people in our country who is a clear master of the monologue. She also adapted the original text of Gary Owen’s Iphigenia in Splott, the winner of the Edinburgh Fringe First award in 2015. Iphigenia en Vallecas won two Premios Max in 2019, for the Best New Production and Best Actress.
