La Bohème, second title in the 37th Season of Opera, is one of the most represented operas and also one of the best regarded by the enthusiasts of lyric. Set in the Parisian bohemia from the 19th century, this work tells the love affair between Rodolfo and Mimí. When La Bohème was released on February 1st 1896 in the Teatro Regio of Torino under Arturo Toscanini’s direction, it did not gain much success in its first performances; notwithstanding, it quickly became one of the most celebrated titles in the history of Opera.
