Let´s talk about family and its real nature. Claudio Tolcachir, one of the leading exponents of contemporary Argentine theatre, is the director and writer of this story that looks deeper at the breakdown process of a family, the Coleman family. With more than 2,000 performances and more than 265,000 spectators in 22 countries, this show premiered in 2005 at the Teatro Timbre 4 in Buenos Aires, it is now stopping off in Palma before bidding its final farewell to the stage. An ingenious and scathing x-ray of the codes of family models. Impossible coexistence approached from the absurd fate of daily life, where violence is deployed as something natural and the pathetic is completely ignored.
“Could I ever not be here?” “Who am I outside of this house and this family?” In the first part, the exercise consists of discerning the chiaroscuro of a chronicle full of questions. Having restored the family tree with all its branches, we will watch how it turns to firewood before our eyes. Tolcachir jumps from drama to black humour to bear witness to the fall. There is no room for melancholy here.
