Uncle Vania was first premiered at Moscow’s Art Theatre in 1899 and it is deemed to be one of the most outstanding plays of dramatic literature from the 19th century. Anton Chekhov reflects an apocalyptic ending for each of his characters. Tedium, wasted lives, unrequited love or never-ending work describe their existence. This is one of the most devastating and representative works of the Russian author.
Lithuanian director Oskaras Koršunovas stages this new version of Chekhov’s Uncle Vania. He works with an artistic and technical crew from both Catalonia, such as the actors Julio Manrique, Ivan Benet and Carme Sansa, and from the Balearic Islands, such as the actress Júlia Truyol.
