The Alternatilla Jazz Festival introduces one of the most relevant musicians in modern Italian jazz. With a myriad of prizes, records and collaborations over 40 years, trumpetist Paolo Fresu already makes part of the group of the greatest jazz musicians and masters of international jazz.
He founded in 2007 the Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet together with Bebo Ferra (guitar), Paolino Dalla Porta (bass), and Stefano Bagnoli (percussion). His most outstanding records is Desertico, where Fresu gives full reign to his most adventurous side. Among the songs present in his album there is a most notable version of the Rolling Stones’ (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction as well as one of Blame It on My Youth.
Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet is one of those music bands that turns up from time to time to remind us why Jazz is so special.
