Papel is a theatrical piece that, through its non-linear narrative, invites the audience to move around while watching the events unfold before them. A universe of characters draws a map of behaviours that tend to rear their heads when we are faced with a difficult situation, such as when being bullied in school. This idea brings the audience into play, as they are invited to join the journey and adopt different roles as if they were actors. This method brings about a debate. Here we don’t focus on the bullied figure, as we may have seen before, but instead on the family, the bullies and their different environments and friendships, encouraging the audience to draw a line between points that leads them to come to their own conclusions. Maybe we’ll see ourselves reflected in some of these behaviours, maybe we see them up close, or maybe we just see them from afar. In any case, Papel is a show that will give you lots to think about.
