In July 1998, when she was 21 years old, Aina Tur visited Latin America to take part in an international cooperation project with several other Spaniards when they fell victim to an armed assault. The experience transformed the author’s life. The fact that four of the victims were European unleashed certain mechanisms that had never before been triggered by any other event that had ever occurred in the country where they currently found themselves. What happened next would change the author’s life forever. Twenty years later and the experience has
been converted into a theatrical monologue which is now hitting the stage, and it not only channels the traumatic experience in which the meeting between the victims and the executioners is relived, but it also brings into question the privilege of being born in a rich country and how ethics, morals and justice are viewed when you live on the edge of the system.
