In Quan els crancs portin talons, Escarlata Circus immerses us in the couple's 30 years of history together, both on and off the stage. Àngel and Bàrbara, the conductors of this “circus action performance” (as the company describes itself), tell us a true story about a couple that started circus performing over 30 years ago in attempt to find freedom and change the world. However, the world also changed them. They undergo the task of breaking down their circus career as if they were talking about crabs. They revisit their past and propose an open and hope-filled vision of the future. What drives them is poetry and the search for beauty. Ultimately, what they do is question human silliness.

Co-produced by Mercat de les Flors, Théâtre de l’Agora Scène Nationale d’Évry et de l’Essonne (France) and Scène Nationale du Sud-Aquitain (Bayonne, France).
