The story of a girl with an intellectual disability who longs to become a mother and must face her community's lack of understanding.

Cloe is 27 years old and has had an intellectual disability and a desire deep inside her since she was a child. The misunderstanding from her family, where she grew up, and her community will lead her to an unprecedented fight for her rights, an uncomfortable rebellion against an unjust situation that has taken away her power to make decisions about her own body. Cloe will confront the law of men in order to achieve her intimate and natural desire: to become pregnant and have a child. Yet the journey will make her question herself. Would she be a good mother? What makes us good mothers and fathers? Do all people who have children have this ability? Are all people with disabilities unable to cope with motherhood?

Mare de Sucre reflects how we treat people with functional diversity in society—assimilating the jurisdiction of their bodies and overprotection as an excuse to take away their freedom of decision.
