The Tempest is the last play written by Shakespeare. Basically, it is a metatheatre piece par excellence. The island appearing in the story is on the level of the creative space of Prospero, the playwright, and Ariel, the stage director. In other words, a theatre inside another theatre. And as a creative space, we should consider the stage as that place where everything can happen and where the characters are thrown to in order to experience a transformative and revealing trip.

Of course, this play also deals with the particular themes of The Tempest as well as with the more generic and recurrent conceptual range of Shakespeare’s oeuvre: power exercise, the freedom desired by the characters, the mental and physical prisons, the parents-children relationship, revenge, pardon, and second opportunities.

We offer a daring and visually surprising version of The Tempest. The quality of this play is assured by the contribution of nine high stake performers from different generations, with the great Valencian actress Teresa Lozano playing Prospero, the protagonist.
