A work that combines the power of word with Rosa Renom’s outstanding performance.

A woman goes back to the flat she left almost three decades ago. There she will meet her husband again. He abandoned her and their son the day before he turned four years old. Now they call her “la majordoma” (“the maid”) in the small mountain town that sheltered her for all these years. The maid has first-hand known power and the ambitious men that seek to conquer it, even if they have to destroy beauty, landscape, and other people to do it. The woman that returns has nothing to do with the woman that left.

La majordoma is the second text of Josep Maria Miró’s Tríptic de l’epifania, which consists of three works. The triptych started with El cos més bonic que s’haurà trobat mai en aquest lloc (awarded with the XLV Premi Born 2020, the Premio Nacional de Literatura Drmática 2022, and the Premio de la Crítica 2023). The three texts speak about the destruction of beauty and get behind an essential theatre which puts its focus on the word and the performer.

Produced by Temporada Alta, Heartbreak Hotel, and Titus Andrònic S.L., and supported by the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
