What can be created if we mix Balearic psychedelia, vibrant pop, African sounds and a lot of onomatopoeias? Well, a Zulu Zulu, one of the most unique projects of the last wave of Balearic music. A rhythmic way of life, an exotic journey to the reserve of musicality. This kaleidoscope of the global sound that was born in Mallorca in 2015 is integrated by the musicians Miquel Mesquida, Miquel Perelló and Pep Toni Ferrer, usual suspects of the local scene, together with the set designer and designer Victoria Gil and the Mexican artist JuMu. And in their debut work Defensa zebra, which they present in La Petita together with a choreographic performance, they launch a vindicatory cry to total fusion: they immerse us in a town of colourful huts, dazzling light and overwhelming rhythms. Read: challenging, polyhedral, always in effervescence. Sound pieces as complete as Agumga Family, Girafa coure and Mogambo, songs with which a manifesto of pure cosmopolitanism are composed from Balearic contemporary independent music.
