PHONA Cicle de Noves Músiques de Mallorca pays tribute to the Catalan composer Carles Guinovart, who died in October 2019 in Barcelona. Guinovart, a restless spirit with profound humanistic culture and a wide range of cultural interests, was the teacher of several generations of musicians and is a benchmark of contemporary musical creation. His musical production is characterised by his craft's robustness, great creative honesty and sense of transcendence. Guinovart had a close professional and personal relationship with Mallorca.

We remember his life through some of his most representative solo and ensemble pieces.  This concert is performed by members of the Ensemble Espai Sonor and guest musicians, including Lluís Guinovart Poch, the composer's son.

We will close the repertoire with Divertiment a la manera d'Erik Satie, the composer's last work, which he finished composing in Palma on 20th June 2019.

This concert, scheduled for March 2020, had to be postponed due to the state of emergency caused by COVID-19.
