They are the invisible link in the chain: the back that supports a rapacious business model, the lumbago that is mass tourism. The Kellys, womenwhoclean, hotel chambermaids who, between them combine concepts that almost always go hand-in-hand: migration, job insecurity, gender discrimination and sweat and toil, at times extreme, to earn a living. But for several years now, the Kellys have also symbolised the fight, the organised fight, to emerge from the shadows and obtain the occupational and social regulatory protections that belong to them: a battle played out in the media and at an institutional level that has recently resulted in several partial victories. La brigada invisible talks about this fight and its protagonists, about their desires, their aspirations, their doubts and their certainties. All of this occurs through a gaze of ideology, feminism and desire to change things. A gaze, both tough and tender, reflected in the mirror of the main, perhaps only, industry in this corner of the world.

Rafel Gallego and Laura Marte have been resident authors at the Teatre Principal for the 2019/2020 season, and La brigada is the fruit of this collaboration. With the support of Kellys Unión Baleares.
