Pedro Páramo, a modest man, ends up becoming the leader of his town, Comala, a hamlet that he bleeds dry and flattens, turning it into a ghost town. Years later, his son, Juan Preciado, returns to the town and comes across two ghosts who used to live there, learning who his father really was and how he took advantage of the hamlet’s inhabitants, including his mother. The events that occurred in a small community unravel a story of corruption that tells us about the mechanisms of power and how they are used around the world for self-gain. The highly acclaimed novel by Mexican author Juan Rulfo is brought to the stage thanks to Pau Miró, with the help of director Mario Gas, stars Vicky Peña and Pablo Derqui, and others.

A co-production by Grec Festival de Barcelona 2020, Teatro Español and Teatre Romea
