La claror (Clarity) speaks about tradition, stigma, empathy, the connection with nature, the power of imagination and also about courage. Above all, it wants to express the fullness of the power of oral narrative. Clarity lights the figure of Rafela Servera Alcornocal "Calona", one of the most renowned oral tellers from southern Europe, albeit mostly unknown for the general public. Ms. Calona’s voice was mesmerizing and she was sharp, imaginative, congenial, as well as blind. From the times of yore, the blind, as Tiresias or Homer, always bore with them the shamanistic power of divination and had the tribal force of being the repository of the cultural legacy. Blindness has by analogy an atavistic connection with the unseen.

Catherine will come over to share with us how her rapprochement with Rafaela went. This rapprochement will not only happen to be one with herself, but with all of us too.

A coproduction between Noctàmbuls, Ajuntament de Son Servera, Institució Pública Antoni Maria Alcover, Mallorca Literària and Teatre del Mar
