Kar is an object theatre work and a concert about the main themes appearing in L. Tolstoi’s Anna Karenina.

The performance combines music, cabaret, and object theatre through original and playful musical compositions which mainly derive from the Russian folk. Six expressive actors, whose voices set the ground for rhythmical compositions, softly recreate fragments from the novel.

Instead of a pacific farewell, the funeral becomes an act to remember some of the events that marked the dead person’s life. While the waiter wlaks randomly, the guests’ imagination revive the dead person through a combination of music, words, and objects. Intoxicated by wine, they dive in the past until they finally become characters themselves in Anna Karenina’s story.
