Festival Tutories Teatrals

These dance tutorials are an initiative of the program ‘Principal Educativo’ from the Teatre Principal de Palma in an attempt to introduce the youth into the world of dance; to make Balearic contemporary dance visible; and to motivate the healthy mobility of the body by incorporating this language in classrooms as an educative tool. 

This program is born after the positive experience of the theatrical tutorials, translating its procedure to the realm of dance with the support of the Conselleria d’Educació I Universitats. It offers a training program to the teachers in secondary school, and a professional dancer supports them during the whole research and experimentation process. 

In this first edition, we are honored with the participation of the dancer and choreographer Esther Martí Martínez. Through her artistic perspective, she has worked with six different groups of the following educative centers: IES Guillem Colom Casasnoves (Sóller), IES Josep Maria Quadrado (Ciutadella de Menorca), IES Joan Maria Thomàs (Palma) and IES Nou Llevant (Palma).

The festival ‘Tutorías de Danza’ sets the stage to give visibility to the different research processes involved in this program.
