Transbord

Transbord is a broad journey through gender identity, a question that goes from being personal to becoming one of the great challenges of Western societies. The sex change of a young person becomes a great personal, social and also bureaucratic labyrinth. This work, with text by the young Sebastià Portell, was selected within the line of text theatre in the latest call for co-productions of the Teatre Principal. Transbord shies away from the easy and Manichean responses as well as from simple denunciation. Far from being just a plea for personal freedom, Transbord is essentially a vitalistic work, a show in favour of the joy of living, while denouncing society's hypocrisy, transphobia and machismo.
